Austin Pringle

Pittsburgh, PA

Student at PennWest California

Hello! My name is Austin Pringle. I'm a student pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems, with a minor in Computer Science.

I can program in several languages, and I enjoy designing and implementing systems. I've dabbled in many different areas of tech; some of my projects can be found on this website.

About Me

I'm a Pittsburgh-area native with a strong passion for open-source software, DevOps, and systems development. My journey into building computer systems began in middle school, where I explored game development using Unreal Engine 4's "Blueprint", a graphical, node-based video game scripting system. This early curiosity evolved into a deep interest in software engineering and deployment, leading me to learn about and work on both the developmental and operational aspects of software.

Through my academic and personal projects, I've gained experience in software engineering, system administration, and DevOps, enjoying roles that bridge these worlds of development. I thrive in environments where I can contribute to both the development and deployment of software, ensuring efficient, scalable, and well-integrated solutions. I'm currently seeking full-time opportunities where I can apply my technical expertise and passion for innovation to real-world challenges.

In this inaugural blog post, I'd like to share the behind-the-scenes of how the site works, why I made the choices I made, and why I'd even make a site like this in the first place.

We'll start with that latter-most point first: why did I make this website? Well, two reasons, really. Firstly, I had never created a fully-functional website like this one from scratch before, and it seemed like a fun challenge. It had exactly the right amount of complexity to keep me engaged and learning. The other reason is that I simply needed something like this to compile information about my various projects. Necessity is the mother of...
